I designed a wedding invitation, rsvp card and a bridal shower invitation.
The bride told me she wanted a wedding invitation with flowers and some sort of geometric shape. I added these elements and brought the flowers to the foreground by placing them in front of the geometric shape. I also used her wedding colors as the invitation’s color scheme.
The bride requested the card to be similar to the wedding invitation. I accomplish this by keeping the same color scheme, illustrated flowers, and geometric shape. This allows the pieces to be cohesive. I made the RSVP card a cropped version of the wedding invitation to push the floral design’s dominance as well as the body copy in the lower right-hand corner.
Here the bride was wanting to keep the same key elements (geometric shape and illustrated flowers), while also adding other elements. Changing the color scheme slightly and placing the flowers at the top of the geometric shape accomplishes this. As for the back of the invite, I kept that same diamond shape but have it as a solid form rather then an outline. I also added small repetitive spheres in the background to create interesting negative space and a playful, yet elegant mood.
Again the bride wanted to keep everything cohesive, while still creating slight differences. I accomplish this by placing the flowers this time solely at the bottom of the geometric shape and creating a similar but different color scheme. Making this the lightest color scheme sets it apart and gives it a subtle softness, which works well with the message it’s portraying.
